SPORK REDESIGN

For this project, I developed concepts to improve upon a spork (spoon + fork). While the combination of eating utensils into a single solution is convenient for on-the-go users, the combination of the spoon and fork decreases the effectiveness of their respective functions. I addressed 3 areas of improvement in my solutions:

1. Spork tines are wide and shallow, making it less effective at picking up food like a conventional fork.

2. Tines at the end of the spoon head make it more difficult to hold liquids compared to a conventional spoon.

3. Lack of cutting ability.

Before creating my concepts, I studied the existing object to understand its shape, proportions, and features.

RETAIL KIOSK

For this project, I developed concepts for a retail kiosk for my cereal brand of choice, Pops. I drew inspiration from the brand and existing kiosks by putting together a mood board and audit. From these sketches, I learned how to capture features of the design from different perspectives. I also learned how to convey how people would interact with kiosk and try the product.
